How to add text to an image
Upload a photo, enter up to four lines and choose a text color. Size is relative to the image width. Position sliders move the whole caption inside the image. The text fits within the available area, so long lines may appear smaller.

Can I edit words already inside a photo?
This tool adds a new text layer on top of a photo. It does not erase, recognize or replace existing words. Use the separate AI editor for an editing request; that workflow requires an account and credits.
Why does a long caption look small?
The caption shrinks to fit within the image width. Shorten the wording or split it into up to four lines to keep the text readable. Check the downloaded result at its intended display size.
Which download format keeps transparent areas?
PNG preserves transparency and avoids another lossy encoding step. JPG places transparent areas on white. WebP can retain transparency but uses lossy encoding in this tool.
How do I prepare a readable photo caption?
Start with the message a viewer needs to understand, then choose a quiet part of the photo for it. A short product name, date or instruction is usually easier to place than a full paragraph. The tool uses one caption block, so its lines share the same color, size and position. It does not provide separately styled words or movable text boxes. If the background is busy everywhere, crop the photo first or choose a different image. Adding more words will not create more space: long lines are automatically reduced to fit inside the available width.
How can I use this for a simple announcement?
For a photographed notice, event reminder or social graphic, keep the essential information in a few short lines. Put the event name first and the date or location below it, then use the preview to check that every line remains inside the image. The editor accepts up to four lines rather than a complete document layout. You cannot add a second independent block for a separate footer. For a complex flyer with several fonts, logos and individually positioned sections, use a layout editor. This tool suits a quick caption on a photo you already have.
What should I know about size and positioning?
The size slider expresses text size relative to the image width, not a fixed point size for printing. Moving the position sliders places the complete caption block; it does not move each line independently. The renderer keeps a single caption inside its available area, so positions near an edge may stop short of that edge. Changing the wording can also change the apparent size because fitting is recalculated. After typing the final wording, check size and position again. Judge the result at the size people will actually see, especially when preparing a small thumbnail.
Can I use other languages or emoji?
You can enter characters supplied by your keyboard, but this is not a translation or typography service. The browser uses a system sans-serif font, so character coverage, emoji style and letter shapes can differ between devices. There is no custom font upload, font library or per-character fallback control. If a symbol appears as an empty box, replace it with a supported character or prepare the text in another editor. Inspect the actual downloaded image before sharing it: a preview that looks correct on your device is the relevant starting point, not a promise about every script.
How do I preserve a reusable original?
Download a copy and keep the source photo separately. Once exported, the caption is part of the pixels, so opening that result again does not restore an editable text field. To revise the wording cleanly, return to the original photo and enter the updated caption. Saving the caption in a note can make that repeat task easier. Do not repeatedly add new text over an old exported caption unless that overlap is intentional. Refreshing or closing this page clears the editing session; the tool does not save a project to an account.
What if the download does not match my intended use?
Check the displayed output dimensions and open the file after downloading. A photograph intended for a web post may look fine on screen yet lack the detail needed for a large print. PNG avoids another lossy compression step for the rendered result, but cannot recover detail missing from the source. If the file is too large for the destination, use Image Compress after saving a copy. If the wording is too small, shorten it rather than only enlarging the whole image. The separate AI studio is optional and is not required to finish this caption workflow.

What happens to image metadata?
Downloads are newly rendered flat images. Original EXIF, GPS information, animation and editable layers are not copied. Keep your original file if you need that information.
